Uggghghgh, so many people “I only like western art, this is weird” they just explained why these works were made this way, how do you not appreciate that???
Specifically here were the Sukhothai Walking Buddha
“it was meant to show the Buddha as a supreme being so they made it less representational of actual humans”

and Song Su-Nam’s Summer Trees
“it’s playing with the ideas of calligraphy and abstract art”
